About

A versatile solo, chamber, and orchestral musician, flutist Anna Urrey enjoys engaging in a variety of creative projects. As an orchestral musician, Anna has performed with The Knights, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony, the Mark Morris Dance Company, NOVUS NY, International Contemporary Ensemble, Camelot on Broadway, and spent three summer seasons at the Castleton Festival under the direction of conductor Lorin Maazel. She was a member of the 2023 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Orchestra and is looking forward to joining them again for the upcoming 2024 holiday season. A passionate chamber musician, Anna is the flutist for the New York City-based group Frisson, and a core member of the Exponential Ensemble. She can also be heard in several recordings, ranging from soundtracks for the feature films Radium Girls, Little Women, and Goodnight Mommy, to playing Principal Flute in the Experiential Orchestra's GRAMMY-winning recording of Dame Ethel Smyth's work, The Prison. A dedicated educator, Anna spent seven years as a New York Philharmonic Teaching Artist, and is on faculty at the Marymount School of New York.
